Pre-requisites: The VHF Marine Radio Operator’s Certificate – If you don’t have this we can arrange this for you – please call us on (02) 9280 1110
Inclusions: Safety gear and all food and accommodation on board the yacht during the practical course
Clothing: Please ensure that you dress for the weather in warm comfortable clothing and wear non-marking soft soled footwear.
What to bring: All you need to bring is an overnight bag with toiletries, sleeping bag for the practical course. BYO alcoholic beverages, CDs and DVDs.
Course Outline
Day 1 – Theory: There is a theory test at the end of the theory or Practocal session (determined by Instructor).
Day 2 & 3 Overnight: Practical: For the practical weekend way we will supply all food on board the yacht and safety gear. The trip will most likely proceed to Pittwater.
Note: You will need to bring a sleeping bag, toiletries, wet weather gear, warm comfortable clothing and 2 x pairs of deck shoes or similar ( a pair of boots will suffice rather than deck shoes). A small torch / LED headtorch can be useful and feel free to bring anything else that will make the weekend away memorable – camera, swimmers, particular favourite nibbles etc.

Important Information
Location: Sydney By Sail are based on the Festival Pontoon in front of the Maritime Museum, next to Pyrmont Bridge in Darling Harbour.
Parking: If you require parking the closest car park can be found on Murray Street under the Novotel. Validate your parking ticket inside the Museum to receive a discounted rate.
Cancellation Fee: Inside 30 day’s loss of all monies paid/Prior to 30 days – no charge.
Prices: Public Holiday surcharges apply. Prices are subject to change without notice.
Bad weather: SBS determines suitability of conditions. Postponement fees apply. No rain checks.
Refunds: Are not available. Any monies paid, less postponement fees have been applied, is held as a credit towards a future booking or other activities conducted by Sydney By Sail (excluding skippers and catering fees).
Footwear: Only non-marking shoes will be permitted on the vessel.
